Emily Sorensen (She/Her) is a Theatre Artist and actor currently located in Regina, Saskatchewan. In spring 2026, she will be graduating from the University of Regina after 5 years of study as the first cohort with a BFA in Devised Performance and Theatre Creation.

As an artist, she enjoys acting, devising, and collaborating with as many other artists as possible. She has passion in devising her own theatrical work whilst also engaging and being an active participant in the work of others. Throughout her education, she has worked alongside her cohort creating, experimenting, and researching, to form their own collective projects as Theatre 26.

Although pursuing a majority of performance opportunities, Emily has also worked behind the scenes as a playwright, assistant stage manager, designer and dramaturg. On stage, she has most recently appeared as Le Beau and Jaques in the University of Regina's production of As You Like It (2024). In 2025, she had the privilege of providing production assistance for Curtain Razor's Tommy & Pere (2025), as well as Architect Theatre's staged reading of Weyburn 1959 (2025).

Emily's recent goals have aimed to broaden her skillset and not limit herself as a creative. She has a constant drive to learn, train, and grow. Her latest forms of experimentation have extended to video editing, endurance work, voicework, and building soundscapes.

However, Emily's love for the arts is not limited to a theatrical setting.  She has always been fascinated by film as a universal medium which has the power to reach a wide array of audiences. Utilizing her background and extensive training as a theatrical stage actor, she hopes to soon expand her practice to the screen.

Upcoming: In March 2026, Emily and her cohort will be premiering their capstone devised project on Globe Theatre's second stage titled What Was, What Will (2026). Following graduation, in August 2026, Emily looks forward to attending Vancouver Film School in pursuit of a 1-year Acting for Film and TV Diploma.
